And comes February!

Sorry it's been so long since I've updated. Things have been... well, uneventful. I haven't had much of anything to update about. That's the problem with not being on the trip. But oh well.

With the strawberries, I have had much success. I've easily made $350 in just over a week. Add that to the money from the Bake it for You sale, and I've got my student Visa. Next thing on the list: plane tickets.

Wish me luck!

St. Valentine's Day

Wow, it's been a while since I've posted. Oops. I'll have to be making those blogs up soon...

So, updates on my trip:

As part of the Bake it for You Sale, for Valentine's day, I've been dipping chocolate strawberries... and I was just AMAZED at how many people ordered! In two days I had made about $250, and people are still ordering strawberries (and other chocolate dipped fruits) for later dates as well.

And, that means that I have officially earned my Student Visa! I just need to get enrolled at the school in Australia, and then I can apply, and hopefully have it in the next month or two.

Next item on my list of things to save up for: plane ticket. So... we'll have to see how that goes.

Good news is, is because the weather is getting warmer, I'll be able to start doing more things than just cooking for everyone. Soon enough I'll be mowing lawns, weeding, and spring cleaning types of things.

Just $1500 left to go... wish me luck!

Bake it for You Sale: UPDATE

Alright, so here we are. I've been doing the Bake it for You sale for just over a week now, and...

I have made over $300!

That means I've almost made enough for my Student Visa. I've made a lot more in a little bit of time than I expected to. If I can keep up the 'income', then I could pay off my entire trip by April.

More updates on my trip, I've finally gotten my passport, and we've been talking with the people at the school I'll be attending. I officially have a spot reserved for me, and they're sending me course lists to figure out what classes I'll be taking. And, once we get that all figured out, I'll be able to apply for my Visa. Once we get the Visa figured out, then all we need to do is take care of plane tickets.

And such was the life of Britty.

That's all for this week. See ya!

Bake it for You Sale!

So, here is step one in my amazing plan to get me to Australia: A Bake it for You Sale. Instead of the more traditional Bake Sales (Where the merchandise sits out for who knows how long, and you don't always get what you want) I am currently taking orders and (you guessed it) baking them specifically for you.

The current list of goodies is:

Root Beer Cake
Sinful Dark Chocolate Cake
Orange/Zucchini Bread
Lemon Pumpkin Bread (with or without chocolate chips)
Cran-blueberry Macadamia Oat Cookies
Monkey Poops
Pumpkin Cheesecake with Gingersnap Crust
Homemade Wheat Bread

And hey, the list is growing as we think of more things to make!

Please help me in my quest to get to Australia!

Australia or Bust~

So, I have a plan. The plan is... I have to get a job. A couple of jobs. I have to earn a LOT of money. I'm going to earn my way to Australia as an exchange student! The only problem is, the school I'm planning I'm going to is going to cost a lot. With uniforms and class fees... It's going to cost close to $1500. Plus I have to pay for my own student visa... which will be other $500. Plane ticket will be taken care of though, so I don't have to worry about that. So... yes. That is my big plan. We'll see in the next couple of months if it comes to be.
